Our Process
Using reference imagery from the film, some LIDAR (laser imaging scans) and some original location design, Top Right Corner, led by creative director Dan Clifton, created an original 360 experience designed specially for release on YouTube 360 and Facebook 360 players as well as on Oculus Quest VR Headsets.
The experience takes users on an “on-rails” journey through space and time inside the iconic phone booth from the series. With each new location, which replicates a set from the upcoming film, users can explore the rich, intricate virtual spaces that our team, in conjunction with Pixel Dash Studios created in the Unity game engine. The experience is filled with countless easter eggs related to the overall franchise, which will encourage repeat engagement. In addition, we’ve also included a music track by Weezer, written specifically for the film.
The experience was created over a 12-week development time period
Top Right Corner integrated a specifically-made Intro Video from Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter into the 360 experience
TRC created a trailer for the 360 video to be released to fans in advance of the experience itself
“It was fantastic to team once again with the marketing department at Orion Pictures to bring such an iconic franchise to life in VR. We were able to do so many new things in Unity’s pipeline for this project and I love how the different levels of the Bill and Ted Universe turned out, especially our gravity defying New Orleans bar and Hell worlds!”
